Source inspiration from:
1 Corinthians and 1Timothy by Paul the Apostle.
“24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. 26 Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air.27“ 1 Corinth 9:24-26 [NIV]
8 For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. 9 This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance.” 1 Timothy 4:8-9 [NIV]
Do we race for the momentary prize?
Hardly a notice to an untrued wheel;
Riding eyes wide open;
Asking, “Why such burning thighs?!
Oh my.
Then, splits asunder the untrue wheel;
Racer: despair along the trail.
Good Sam will come and kneel;
But fruitless; all to no avail.
(Who packs a spare wheel?)
(“Then lend me your wheel”).
(“Wow.” Is that God’s will?).
Forever burning thighs never satisfy.
Mere good exercise indemnifies.
King of Kings does not decide.
Ridiculously blessed with freedom;
We ride the good ride for spoke(n) Kingdom.
Peace and pace for the Son’s Rise,
Always listen to spoke(n) wheel;
Ride eyes wide open;
Exclaim, “Such good exercise!”
Inside and out.
Surprise Surprise.
Amen, Amen, Amen.
